We begin with a king and his castle-
and a desire to have more of his land.
He set out from the drawbridge one morning
with bags of gold coins in his hands.
Since the king owned the land and a large army-
and might have something much worse up his sleeve-
They gathered their family and belongings-
Folks thought it would be best just to leave.
They headed out west to the mountains-
By the sixth day they started to tire-
The next couple days they climbed higher
They settled down on night ten with a fire.
The next morning they discovered the water-
It flowed from the hills and formed streams.
With the sunrise reflecting rays of approval-
Here they would build a place like their dreams.
Before the king made him run from the castle-
Stump took care of the land and the moat.
He was strong and once used a sharp axe-
To carve a boat that could float in the moat.
They decided to choose their first leader-
A man who had an answer to jump every hump-
Since he would and could build all the houses-
The easy answer the first vote was Stump
Stump moved to the top part of the mountain-
The first nights when it cold he would freeze.
He cut and gathered wood to build shelter-
Before the winter came in with cold breeze.
Days passed by quickly and bonds started to form-
Together they worked hard and had fun-
Soon the fields were covered in houses-
Stump grew a reputation for getting things done.
The folks were happy and the town quickly grew-
Soon they would need a bank and a school.
So Stump and six men gathered one morning-
With wagons filled with wood and sharp tools.
Far down the mountain on a flat spot of land-
All the people gathered on a clear day in May-
Together they built desks and all the chairs-
They built a school on the very next day.
One day while traveling deep in the forest-
Stump found a tree too thick for one axe.
He returned with a friend the next morning-
And extra axe to take plenty of hacks.
It took the two of them almost three complete days-
They broke two axe and his favorite saw.
Two nights they spent sleeping in the forest-
Before that proud tree would finally fall.
Stump chopped and cut and carved the first bus-
Out of wood from that once mighty oak.
With some wheels, a few seats, and a red light-
Stump built a school bus folks swore never broke.
